Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, slicers, and food processors
Follow food safety management protocols to maintain a clean and sanitized work environment
Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients and suggesting improvements based on culinary best practices
Handle food with care, adhering to proper food handling techniques to prevent contamination
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances through regular cleaning and sanitizing
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
Support the team in slicing techniques, knife skills, and meal assembly to uphold recipe adherence and presentation standards
Contribute to a positive team environment by demonstrating professionalism and enthusiasm for culinary excellence

Experience

Previous food service experience in a restaurant or culinary setting is highly preferred
Experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus
Strong knowledge of food industry safety standards in production and handling practices
Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Proven ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining high-quality food preparation standards
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams
Demonstrated proficiency in knife skills, slicing techniques, and meal preparation processes
