About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our medical office team, floating between front office and back office duties as needed. This role is vital to ensuring smooth daily operations and providing exceptional service to our patients and their families, and requires comfort moving fluidly between reception, scheduling, and clinical support tasks.

Responsibilities

Front Office

Greet and check-in patients with professionalism and warmth.
Check-out patients and assist with follow-up scheduling.
Verify insurance coverage prior to appointments.
Assess and manage patient flow in the lobby across all locations.
Ensure collection of co-pays and outstanding balances.
Serve as a liaison between patients and the healthcare team.
Provide technical support for patient portal access.
Monitor turnaround time for medical record requests and process record requests.
Review future appointments to minimize scheduling errors.
Manage incoming messages and documents from outside providers, uploading them to patient charts.

Back Office

Room patients and prepare them for provider visits.
Set up and assist with injections per provider direction.
Perform chart audits to ensure documentation accuracy and compliance.
Clean and stock exam rooms between patients.
Support providers with clinical flow to keep visits on schedule.

General

Provide support and guidance to patients and their families as needed.
Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times.

Requirements

Strong patient service orientation with the ability to manage high patient volume.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 2 years of medical front office and/or back office experience preferred.
Comfortable floating between front and back office responsibilities based on daily needs.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency with data entry and phone systems.
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology for effective patient communication and clinical support.
Experience with PPO/HMO payors.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Bilingual Spanish or Vietnamese a plus!
Casting experience a plus!
