Park's people are Niche people, and we are looking for someone who will embody and champion this culture in the Corporate Controller role.

Job Summary

Park's Corporate Controller will provide key financial information to managers across the organization, enabling them to make the best decision quickly. Reporting to the VP of Finance, they will oversee all operations in connection with company finances, including accounts receivable and payable, production, inventory, billing, collections, payroll, and auditing. They are responsible for training and supervising all department staff. We are growing and will be constructing a new plant. This growth means developing and initiating new systems, policies, and procedures for transacting financial matters more quickly and efficiently. As a publicly traded company (PKE), it is integral that our financial systems are accurate and in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards (GAAP), governmental regulations (SOX), , and company policies and procedures. We need a Corporate Controller who has the experience, knowledge, and leadership to keep us compliant as we grow.

Our Challenges

We have a lot of legacy internal financial reports. Currently, we make individualized reports for each manager/executive. This is time-consuming and inefficient. We need someone to create and sell a new and improved financial reporting system that is quick and efficient, enabling everyone at Park Aerospace to make the best business decisions.
We are migrating to a new ERP system. We need a Corporate Controller who has experience with systems implementations and is able to provide leadership through this process including process redesigns, data migration, user acceptance testing, internal controls integration and post-implementation optimization to improve financial reporting, operational efficiency, and data integrity.
We need a Corporate Controller who sees Finance as an integral part of the operation. They need to have a presence at our manufacturing facilities, so that they can collaborate effectively with the leadership team there. With that in mind the successful candidate should expect annual domestic travel of approximately 20%.
We plan on reorganizing the Kansas and Oklahoma operations into separate operations in distinct legal entities. We need a Corporate Controller who will be responsible for managing the consolidation of two new business units.
We need a Corporate Controller who will review our processes and internal controls, making sure those processes are up-to-date, SOX compliant, focused on relevant risks, work as intended, and are followed.
We have areas of our financial operations that need to be automated. We need a Corporate Controller who understands the power of automation and has had success automating financial systems.
We need a Corporate Controller who is a dynamic, hands-on leader. We have a number of new people in key roles who need direction, so they need to be coached, mentored, and trained. We need someone who is a talent magnet. Someone who has successfully built a high-performing accounting team.
We need a Corporate Controller who is committed to the long-term success of Park Aerospace and its customers. They need to embody and champion our Niche culture. They need to be in it for the long term.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Managerial accounting experience in a manufacturing environment

Strong cost accounting skills
Must have experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, payroll, income tax, and banking
Experience in establishing and maintaining strong internal controls

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong work ethic and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Strong organizational and analytical skills

Must possess a high degree of proficiency and accuracy in handling detailed information and ensure timely processing of the information

High reasoning capability required. Must be able to assess any situation quickly and make sound decisions based on limited information.

Must possess the ability to handle stressful situations and work well under pressure

The ability to maintain confidentiality at all times

Education/Experience/Skills Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance, five to seven years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience working in a Publicly Traded Company (PKE)
Experience with SEC Reporting
Computer literate with experience in using accounting software (Oracle 11i a plus), spreadsheet packages and word processing applications.
Strong cost and budgeting background required.
Excellent leadership and communication skills required.

Physical Requirements

Individual required to be sighted (can be medically corrected), with clear verbal and written communications skills. Job includes lifting of product/supplies ranging from minimal to 50 pounds on an occasional basis. Individual will be required to be mobile, with bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, and crouching.

Pay: Up to $200,000.00 per year
