Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Front Office Assistant to join our vibrant dental practice. In this vital role, you will be the welcoming face of our clinic, ensuring smooth administrative operations and exceptional patient service. Your energy, organization, and communication skills will help create a positive experience for every patient while supporting the clinical team behind the scenes. Duties

Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes with professionalism and efficiency
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verifications using systems like Epic, Meditech, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Athenahealth
Schedule appointments accurately utilizing dental office management software and coordinate patient flow throughout the day
Collect payments, process medical billing, and perform accurate documentation review for billing purposes
Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly and professionally
Manage incoming correspondence, file medical records, and support administrative tasks such as data entry using Microsoft Office and other EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems
Assist with intake procedures, documentation review, and updating care plans in electronic health record (EHR) systems including eClinicalWorks or Dentrix

Skills

Proven experience in medical collection processes and medical billing procedures within a dental or healthcare setting
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or eClinicalWorks
Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards, and medical terminology to ensure accurate documentation and billing compliance
Familiarity with insurance verification processes including Medicare and Medicaid requirements
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and effective communication abilities in bilingual settings preferred
Demonstrated clerical experience including filing, data entry (10 key typing), appointment scheduling, and office management tasks
Ability to operate multi-line phone systems efficiently while maintaining professionalism under pressure
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation and reporting purposes
Knowledge of dental terminology combined with clinic experience to facilitate smooth front desk operations
Experience with dental office software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable
Exceptional organizational skills to manage medical records, care plans, insurance documents, and administrative support tasks
