The Opportunity

Apex Service Midwest continues to grow through organic expansion and acquisitions. We are expanding our team to support two of our partner brands in Michigan: Canfield and The Meridian Company.

We are adding a Payroll Specialist to support payroll processing for these Michigan-based brands, helping ensure accurate, efficient, and timely payroll execution. This is a hybrid role offering competitive pay and the opportunity to contribute in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

Process weekly payroll utilizing ServiceTitan and ADP for multiple locations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare payroll sheets, reconcile data, and process manual checks as needed.
Drive accurate and efficient payroll processes that minimize errors and adjustments.
Support payroll-related reporting (401(k), journal entries, etc.).
Collaborate with HR and accounting teams on special projects and integrations.
Assist with onboarding and integrating new companies into payroll processes and ADP templates.
Provide excellent customer service when addressing payroll-related questions from internal teams.
Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Support accounting with clerical tasks when not engaged in payroll processing.

Qualifications

1+ year of experience in payroll processing, accounting, or a similar function.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUPs, formulas/functions required).
Experience with ServiceTitan and ADP preferred; accounting experience a plus.
High attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; professional and customer-service oriented.
Curious, adaptable, and enthusiastic with a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
