Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, excellent knife skills, and a strong understanding of food safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to the creation of delicious meals while ensuring quality and efficiency in food service operations. Prior experience in dietary departments, catering, or restaurant settings is highly valued. The Prep Cook will play a vital role in supporting our kitchen staff by preparing ingredients, assisting with meal assembly, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Duties

Prepare ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications, including chopping, slicing, and marinating.
Assist in menu planning and ensure all food items are prepared efficiently for service.
Support cooking processes by assembling dishes and managing food portions.
Handle food with proper safety and hygiene practices, adhering to all food handling regulations.
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing supplies.
Assist with catering events or special meal preparations as needed.
Ensure all food preparation meets quality standards and presentation expectations.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods.

Qualifications

Previous experience in food industry roles such as dietary aide, culinary assistant, or restaurant prep cook is preferred.
Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques.
Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures.
Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food service operations.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to follow recipes accurately.
Prior experience in catering or dietary departments is a plus.
A passion for culinary arts and a commitment to high-quality food preparation standards.
