About the Agency : The Idaho Division of Career Technical Education (IDCTE) provides administration, leadership, and coordination for secondary and post-secondary programs in career technical education (CTE) across the state of Idaho. With a customer-service focus, the Division leads Idaho’s efforts to prepare youth and adults for high-skill, in-demand careers.
Summary: Idaho Career Technical Education (IDCTE) is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative professional to serve as an Educator Preparation Coordinator. This position supports statewide educator preparation and professional development efforts for secondary and postsecondary career and technical education (CTE) by coordinating program implementation, managing day-to-day operations, and providing technical assistance to educators, preparation providers, internal and external partners, and agency partners.
The Educator Preparation Coordinator works under the direction of the Educator Preparation Assistant Director and plays a key role in ensuring the effective delivery of educator onboarding, training, mentoring, and preparation initiatives. The position serves as a point of coordination between IDCTE staff, educator preparation providers, mentors, and other stakeholders to support high-quality educator preparation systems aligned with Idaho requirements and workforce needs.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, responsive, and capable of managing multiple priorities while working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners. Some instate travel may be required. This is a full‑time, in‑office position, Monday through Friday. Remote work is not available.
Responsibilities:
Educator Preparation Program Coordination
- Coordinate day-to-day implementation of educator preparation programs and initiatives under the direction of the Educator Preparation Assistant Director.
- Support onboarding and preparation activities for new secondary and postsecondary CTE educators.
- Assist with instructional delivery activities for educator preparation coursework and training, including facilitating or co facilitating training, supporting instructional logistics, and coordinating learning activities.
- Assist with grading, assessment tracking, and documentation of participant progress, consistent with program requirements and guidance from instructional leads.
- Assist with scheduling, logistics, and coordination of educator preparation onboarding, training, development activities, and related supports.
- Serve as a point of contact for educators, mentors, and preparation providers regarding program participation, requirements, and timelines.
Support for Educator Preparation Providers and Mentors
- Assist with coordination and communication with Idaho-approved CTE educator preparation providers.
- Support data collection, documentation, and materials needed for educator preparation program monitoring, approval, review, or renewal processes.
- Coordinate mentor assignments, mentor training logistics, and documentation in collaboration with the Assistant Director.
- Maintain accurate records related to educator participation, mentoring activities, and program completion.
Professional Development and Resource Support
- Assist with the delivery, teaching, and facilitation of professional development and instructional training for educators, mentors, and faculty, including leading or co facilitating training as assigned.
- Assist with the development, maintenance, and dissemination of educator preparation resources, instructional materials, and guidance documents.
- Assist with instructional assessment activities, including grading, feedback, and documentation of participant learning and progress, in accordance with established program criteria and direction as assigned.
- Coordinate logistics for training sessions, workshops, and events, including registration, materials, and participant communication.
Data, Reporting, and Administrative Support
- Maintain program records, tracking systems, and databases related to educator preparation and professional development.
- Assist with data collection and reporting aligned with federal, state, and agency requirements.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by contributing to program feedback, evaluation activities, and documentation.
- Assist with contract processing, reimbursements, and program-related administrative tasks, as assigned.
Collaboration and Communication
- Communicate regularly with internal IDCTE teams to support alignment and coordination across educator services initiatives.
- Respond to inquiries from educators, districts, charter schools, post-secondary institutions, and partners in a timely and professional manner.
Represent IDCTE at meetings, trainings, or events as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Professional experience in education, workforce development, career and technical education, or a closely related field.
- Typically gained by at least three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience working in secondary, postsecondary, workforce development, or career and technical education settings.
- Knowledge of adult learning theory, curriculum development, and instructional best practices.
- Typically gained by experience designing, delivering, or supporting professional learning, curriculum development, instructional improvement, or educator training for adult learners.
- Experience supporting, coordinating, or delivering professional development for educators, faculty, or industry professionals.
- Typically gained by experience planning, facilitating, or supporting workshops, trainings, conferences, mentoring programs, or technical assistance for adult learners or professionals.
- Experience in developing training materials and public speaking to various stakeholder groups.
- Typically gained by three (3) years of experience designing and delivering training, technical assistance, or presentations and communicating effectively with diverse audiences such as educators, administrators, workforce partners.
- Demonstrated knowledge of secondary and postsecondary CTE systems, programs, and pathways, including educator preparation and professional development structures.
- Typically gained by professional experience working with secondary and/or postsecondary CTE programs, educator preparation pathways, certification systems, or statewide education initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large or complex projects or statewide initiatives related to career and technical education, education, or workforce development through collaboration with cross-functional teams and partners.
- Typically gained by at least five (5) years of experience leading complex, multi‑year or multi‑stakeholder projects that require coordination across departments, agencies, or organizations, including responsibility for planning, implementation, timelines, and outcomes.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Typically gained by professional experience coordinating programs, facilitating meetings, communicating complex information, and working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders such as educators, administrators, workforce partners, or community organizations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, career technical education, workforce development, public administration, or related field, equivalent certification, or relevant experience.
- Master’s degree in education, career technical education, workforce development, public administration, or related field, equivalent certification, or relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Idaho’s CTE educator preparation programs, CTE certification pathways, and professional development requirements.
- Experience teaching or instructing in secondary or postsecondary educational settings.
- Typically gained by direct teaching, instructional, or training experience in secondary schools, post-secondary institutions, or adult education environments
- Experience supporting CTE educator onboarding, educator preparation, mentoring programs, or induction initiatives.
- Experience working in a state agency, school district, charter school, postsecondary institution, or workforce organization.
Experience using technology tools and digital systems, including and not limited to Artificial Intelligence, to improve workflow efficiency, communication, or project management.
