Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist specializing in Lathe and Mill operations to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathes and milling machines to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will drive efficiency and excellence in our production processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about machining, manufacturing, and delivering top-tier craftsmanship in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Set up and operate CNC lathe and milling machines, ensuring optimal performance and precision.
Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM programming software to produce complex parts efficiently.
Interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate manufacturing.
Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measuring instruments.
Perform routine machine maintenance, tooling changes, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
Utilize electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques when required for intricate or hard-to-machine components.
Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity.
Assist with assembly processes as needed and operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other fabrication tools to support production goals.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols including forklift operation when necessary.

Skills

Proven experience with CNC programming for lathe and mill machines, particularly Fanuc controls or similar systems.
Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings.
Proficiency with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or similar tools for part design review.
Familiarity with CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming for efficient toolpath creation.
Ability to operate precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding when applicable.
Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements.
Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques for complex part fabrication.
Knowledge of tooling selection, setup procedures, and machining best practices to ensure high-quality output.
Ability to read complex blueprints accurately while adhering to safety standards in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues quickly and effectively.
