Full Job Description

$115,000 base + $50,000 commission target (uncapped) + quarterly bonus up to 20% of base. OTE: $165K–$188K.

We're the North American partner of BASWA acoustic — innovative, sustainable seamless acoustical systems specified into award-winning architectural projects across North America. We're hiring a Regional Specification Manager based in the NYC area (NYC, CT, or NJ) to own the Northeast, Great Lakes, and Eastern Canada territories. You'll report directly to our North American Sales Director.

This is architect and engineer facing specification sales. Your job is to get BASWA specified as Basis of Design on high profile commercial and residential projects by offering engaged support from the opportunity phase through completed installation. Sales cycles are long (12–36 months), the design teams are sophisticated, and the wins are award-winning projects.

In a typical quarter, expect about six three-day trips into your regional territory — Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Toronto, and other strategic cities — plus regular day trips into your NYC/CT home market and a few conventions across the year. That works out to roughly 24-28 regional trips annually, or about 50–60 nights on the road.

Your day-to-day:

Engage architects, designers, acoustical consultants, and owners through in-person meetings, product presentations, and AIA CEUs. Seek the underlying problem; present the right solution.
Build and manage the specification pipeline in our CRM. Meaningful notes, disciplined follow-up tasks, no memory-based tracking.
Respond to inbound inquiries within one business day.
Overcome gatekeepers with creativity, research, and persistence.
Collaborate transparently with our sales, technical, and global teams.
Represent BASWA at select networking events, conventions, and industry gatherings.

Curious about the product. You want to become a real product expert. Architects will trust you because you know the parts, pieces, constructability, the whole system.
Motivated by earning. Uncapped commission is upside you want to chase.
Sustainability-minded. BASWA's environmental story matters to you.

Your background:

4–6+ years in building products specification sales, working primarily with architects, designers, and consultants.
Experience with long sales cycles (12+ months) on institutional, cultural, or premium commercial projects.
Strong CRM discipline in any modern tool.
Bonus: acoustical engineering or consulting background, or product experience in ceilings, specialty finishes, wall systems, architectural lighting, or similar architect-facing categories.
Not a fit: primarily contractor-facing sales, drywall sales, or short-cycle commodity building products.

What year one looks like:
Success is measured on the growth of BASWA Basis of Design specifications, quality of design-team meetings and follow-through, and sales in your territories. Commission is tied to BODs and territory sales.
