Location: Orlando, FL area
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Compensation: Starting at $55,000+ annually, based on experience
Position Type: Full-time
Experience Required: 3–5 years of combined professional experience in pool service and leadership or team supervision

Overview

Iron Lion Pool Care is seeking an experienced, dependable Field Lead to help lead our pool-service technicians and maintain consistently high service standards across our routes.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands pool maintenance, water chemistry, equipment operation, technician training, and route execution. The Field Lead will maintain a partial service route while supporting technicians, conducting quality checks, resolving field issues, and helping ensure every customer receives reliable, professional service.

The ideal candidate is a strong pool professional with leadership experience who is ready to take the next step in their career and enjoys coaching others, solving problems, and improving day-to-day operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesRoute Service and Coverage

Maintain a partial route of approximately 40 pools initially
Complete assigned service stops according to Iron Lion Pool Care standards.
Assist with overflow, re-cleans, emergency visits, and route coverage as needed.
Help keep routes on schedule when technicians call out, fall behind, or leave the company.
Maintain high service quality while balancing leadership responsibilities.

Technician Leadership and Support

Serve as the primary field resource for technicians during the workday.
Answer questions involving water chemistry, equipment, service procedures, route challenges, and customer situations.
Help technicians make sound and consistent field decisions.
Train and onboard new technicians.
Conduct ride-alongs, coaching sessions, and ongoing field training.
Perform regular quality checks on technician-maintained pools.
Monitor technician quality, speed, consistency, and adherence to company standards.
Identify recurring performance issues and recommend additional training or corrective action.
Provide technicians with clear, respectful, and direct feedback.

Quality Control

Conduct routine quality inspections across service routes.
Review service reports, chemical readings, notes, and photos.
Confirm pools are being properly tested, treated, brushed, netted, vacuumed, and documented.
Identify patterns involving complaints, missed service steps, re-cleans, or inconsistent work.
Correct field-quality issues quickly and professionally.
Help develop and improve operating procedures, checklists, and training standards.

Customer Issue Resolution

Work closely with the Office Manager to resolve customer concerns requiring field review.
Investigate service-related complaints and determine the appropriate field solution.
Perform or coordinate re-cleans when necessary.
Address green pools, cloudy water, algae, equipment concerns, recurring debris, and service mistakes.
Provide clear field notes, photos, and recommendations so the office can communicate accurately with customers.
Follow issues through completion to ensure the pool is stabilized and the underlying cause is addressed.

The Office Manager remains the primary customer contact, while the Field Lead is responsible for determining and executing the field-side solution.

Problem Pools and Water Chemistry

Develop treatment plans for green, cloudy, algae-prone, and chemically unstable pools.
Diagnose whether issues are related to chemistry, filtration, circulation, equipment, environmental conditions, service execution, or customer activity.
Monitor problem pools until conditions return to normal.
Provide technicians with guidance on chemical treatment and follow-up procedures.
Help ensure treatment decisions are effective, safe, and consistent with company standards.

Equipment and Emergency Triage

Review field concerns involving leaks, pumps, filters, salt systems, water loss, and other equipment issues.
Evaluate customer photos or videos when additional field judgment is needed.
Determine whether equipment should be shut down, a technician should return, or the issue can be scheduled for follow-up.
Respond appropriately to active leaks, water spraying, pump failures, and other urgent equipment concerns.
Escalate serious safety, property-damage, legal, employee-injury, or operational concerns to company leadership.

Route Capacity and Operations

Monitor technician workload and route capacity.
Identify overloaded, inefficient, or poorly balanced routes.
Recommend route adjustments, additional coverage, or staffing changes.
Work with the Office Manager on schedule and route changes.
Help ensure the field team has the tools, training, and support needed to complete routes successfully.

Leadership Participation

Attend weekly leadership meetings.
Provide updates regarding:
Technician performance
Quality-control findings
Re-cleans and customer concerns
Problem pools
Route capacity
Equipment issues
Training needs
Process and SOP improvements
Contribute ideas that improve service quality, efficiency, and team performance.

Decision-Making Authority

The Field Lead will be trusted to:

Direct and support technicians during the workday.
Make field decisions within company standards.
Assign or recommend re-cleans and follow-up visits.
Correct field-quality issues.
Coach technicians and reinforce service expectations.
Recommend retraining, discipline, or termination when appropriate.
Escalate serious matters to company leadership when necessary.

Qualifications

3–5 years of combined professional experience in pool service and leadership or team supervision.
Pool-industry experience and leadership experience may have been gained in separate positions and do not need to have occurred at the same time.
Strong knowledge of residential pool chemistry, filtration, circulation, and equipment.
Ability to diagnose and resolve green, cloudy, algae-prone, and other problem pools.
Proven ability to train, coach, support, and hold employees accountable.
Strong communication, organization, and decision-making skills.
Dependable and comfortable managing multiple field priorities.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to work outdoors and meet the physical requirements of pool service.
CPO certification preferred but not required for the right candidate.
