Medical Receptionist – Primary Care Practice Emerald Coast Medical Group is an independent primary care practice in Pensacola, FL, looking for a dependable and patient-focused Medical Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our front office. We're not a hospital system or corporate clinic — we're a close-knit, physician-led practice where your contributions are recognized and your growth matters. Our average employee tenure is over four years, and we're looking for someone who wants to build their career here, not just fill a seat.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet and register patients warmly, ensuring a positive first impression at every visit
Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information with accuracy
Collect copayments, deductibles, and outstanding balances at time of service
Schedule and manage patient appointments, optimizing provider availability
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments
Process outgoing referrals and medical orders accurately and in a timely manner
Answer and direct incoming calls in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner

Qualifications:

Prior experience in a medical office setting strongly preferred
Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems required
Working knowledge of insurance verification processes and referral coordination
Solid understanding of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional organizational ability with a talent for managing competing priorities
