Full Job Description

Mathematics Teacher (High School)

Starting Salary $66,500, $2,000 Tested Subject, $3,000 Advanced Degree, $200 per year, related experience

Position PurposeUnder the general supervision of the School Director, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, and goals.Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. (Masters preferred)
New Jersey Certification Teacher of Mathematics
Motor Vehicle Operator’s License or ability to provide own transportation.
Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary
Demonstrate working knowledge of the use of various technological software and equipment for tasks such as, but not limited to, word processing, data management, information retrieval, visual presentations, and telecommunications.
Understand the requirement to maintain confidentiality concerning charter school-related matters.
Knowledge of child growth and development, individual differences in ability, personality and interests and learning/motivational techniques. Knowledge of high school curriculum and concepts, including all subject matters taught.
Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
Knowledge of grade specific school curriculum and concepts, including all subject matters taught.
Prior to employment, the following must be addressed:
Required to complete a criminal history background check to prove that the individual has not been convicted of a crime or a disorderly person’s offense in accordance with N.J.S.A 18A:6-7.1.
Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:32-6.2.
Pass the state required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test as required by N.J.A.C. 6A:32-6.3.

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work; parents, students and faculty etc.

Meet such alternatives to the above qualifications as the school director finds appropriate and acceptable.

The Mathematics teacher develops and delivers high school math curriculum, aligning with school goals and iLearn Schools' vision. They equip students with math content and practices for academic and career success, fostering a safe and effective learning environment. Responsibilities include assessing student progress, managing records, encouraging parent communication, coordinating with staff, supervising students, and administering tests.

Experience: Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred. Equipment: Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone. Familiar with robotics tools, and necessary computer software and platforms to teach programming, physical computing, and engineering design.Travel Requirements: Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with New Jersey state law (Title 18A) and the iLearn Schools Inc. board policies and procedures.

Reports to: School Director Supervise: Students Terms of Employment: Ten month employee

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the School Director and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
