Sales Account Executive / Business Development
MG Concepts — Amityville, NY
Full-time
Compensation: $72,000–$80,000 guaranteed draw, plus commission
MG Concepts is a store fixture, architectural millwork, and custom manufacturing company located in Amityville, NY. We design, engineer, fabricate, and install custom retail environments for national brands, specialty retailers, and commercial clients.
We are looking for a driven Sales Account Executive / Business Development professional to help us identify, pursue, and develop new client opportunities.
This is a hands-on business development role for someone who is curious, persistent, organized, and willing to learn our business from the ground up. Direct experience in store fixtures, millwork, construction, manufacturing, or retail environments is helpful, but it is not required. The right candidate will be someone who wants to understand how things are built, how projects are won, how clients are served, and how long-term business relationships are created.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable making outbound calls, sending targeted outreach, following up consistently, visiting clients, walking retail stores, learning our manufacturing process, and working closely with ownership, estimating, project management, engineering, and production.
The goal is not simply to chase volume. The goal is to develop profitable, relevant, long-term client opportunities that fit MG Concepts’ capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and develop new business opportunities with retail brands, architects, designers, general contractors, purchasing teams, and other prospective clients
- Manage the front end of the sales and account-development process, from prospecting and initial outreach through qualification, proposal support, follow-up, and client commitment
- Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified prospects and active opportunities
- Make outbound calls, send targeted outreach, follow up consistently, and schedule introductory meetings
- Research prospective clients, store programs, rollouts, remodels, brand expansion opportunities, and other relevant market activity
- Work directly with the CEO on sales strategy, client targeting, account development, and annual sales planning
- Learn MG Concepts’ products, services, materials, manufacturing capabilities, and project process
- Spend time with estimating, project management, engineering, and production to understand how our work is quoted, detailed, built, and delivered
- Visit client sites, retail stores, trade shows, industry events, and project locations as needed
- Help develop and improve sales materials, presentations, outreach language, case studies, and other marketing collateral
- Maintain accurate CRM records, prospect lists, activity notes, opportunity status, and follow-up schedules
- Provide timely, complete, and relevant sales activity reports
- Help convert new prospects into long-term client relationships
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth handoff from sales opportunity to project execution
- Stay appropriately involved after award to support client expectations, project continuity, and successful execution
Sales Process & Marketing Support
In addition to new-business development, this role will include maintaining CRM data, improving prospect lists, organizing follow-up activity, helping develop sales materials and case studies, contributing to LinkedIn and other professional outreach, and helping the company communicate its capabilities more consistently to prospective clients.
What We Are Looking For
- A self-starter with strong follow-through and a high level of personal accountability
- Someone who is persistent, resourceful, and not easily discouraged
- A person who is comfortable prospecting, cold outreach, networking, and asking for the meeting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple prospects, follow-ups, and opportunities at once
- Someone with enough humility to learn and enough confidence to pursue new opportunities
- A candidate who is willing to understand the business at a practical, hands-on level
- A professional, ethical, and positive approach to client relationships
- Someone who is comfortable working directly with ownership and internal teams
- A person who wants to build a meaningful book of business over time
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in sales, business development, account management, customer service, project coordination, estimating, construction, retail, manufacturing, architectural products, design, or a related field
- Experience working with owners, executives, architects, designers, general contractors, purchasing teams, or commercial clients
- Familiarity with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, LinkedIn, and basic sales research tools
- Experience in store fixtures, architectural millwork, retail environments, construction, or custom manufacturing is a plus, but not required
