Full Job Description

Responsible for maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of ready-mix trucks, semi-trucks, batch plant, and other heavy equipment. This position requires mechanical skills such as knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems and ability to lead other mechanics.
FOCUS AND SCOPE: Essential duties and responsibilities, i.e. those which are basic, necessary, and an integral part of the job, are indicated below.
1) Inspect, and perform mechanical repairs for ready-mix trucks, semi-trucks, batch plant, and maintenance of associated types of equipment per mechanic lead direction.
2) Inspect and perform routine preventative maintenance such as lubricating, oil changes, and failure analysis.
3) Assists with repair or replacement such as, but not limited to: injectors, starters, water pumps, radiators, brakes per Mechanic Leads direction.
4) Use a wide variety of hand and power tools, cutting torches and welding equipment.
5) Pick up parts when needed and assist with parts inventory.
6) Maintain clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and parts are stored properly.
7) Load and unload tools and supplies; ability to operate forklift and loader for heavier items.
8) May assist with shoveling, sweeping, washing, and maintaining the cleanliness of the plant site including snow removal when necessary.
9) Adhere to all company safety policies and practices.

Experience and Industry Expertise:
 A minimum of two (2) years of experience in mechanical repair, preferably with heavy equipment.
 Preferred ASE Certification or other relevant mechanical certifications a plus.
 Welding and fabricating a plus.
 Must have valid Driver License.

Specific Job Requirements:

1) Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and pneumatic components.
2) Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
3) Must demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and manage multiple assignments ensuring all repairs are made in timely manner.
4) Must develop and maintain strong working relationships internally and externally with diverse groups of people.
5) Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to speak, write and understand English at a proficient and understandable level.
6) Must demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure, remaining composed and professional while receiving direction.
7) Ability to make decision and solve problems efficiently when faced with scheduling and or delivery issues with Mechanic Lead direction.
8) Ability to drive all yard equipment.
9) When necessary, help out with snow removal.

a. Physical: Required walking on uneven ground, steep slopes, and exposure to extreme temperature and/or humidity. Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy equipment or parts and materials up to 50 lbs. May require climbing of stairs. Assist with outside duties as needed. Standing, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces for extended periods.
b. Work Environment: Exposure to include loud noise, dust, fumes, and extreme weather conditions prevalent at the time.
