Full Job Description

We are looking for a caring, positive individual to cook for residents in our 5-star senior living community. Candidates should have prior experience cooking in healthcare, schools, prison, military etc.

Schedule: This is a full-time position. The primary shift is 10:30am - 7pm. Shifts may include holidays and weekends.

Duties:

Must be able to cook food from scratch according to recipes in large quantities.
Reports to the Director of Food Service, chef and Kitchen Managers.
Must be knowledgeable of food service practices and procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines governing dietary functions.
Maintains sanitation and "clean as you go" habits in the work area, cleaning pots and pans as needed.
Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the public.
Review menus prior to preparation of food.
Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and special diet orders.

Requirements:

Must be able to push, pull and lift 50 pounds
5-7 years experience as a cook, in an institutional environment (healthcare experience preferred)
Supervisory experience preferred
Food Handler Certificate required
Multi-tasking and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
