Full Job Description

PSLS is currently seeking a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will report to the Controller and will assist with and provide support for the accounting functions of the organization. The role requires a highly organized individual with strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and the ability to multitask. The principal duties of this position are performed in a general office environment.

Responsibilities
Among other duties assigned, the Staff Accountant will:

Prepare monthly reconciliations between the donor database and the general ledger systems
Provide support as needed to various accounting functions, including AP, AR, GL
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and accounting reconciliations
Assist with supporting schedules for annual budget process
Assist with supporting schedules for annual audit
Assist with Form 990 preparation and submission
Assist with month-end and year-end journal entries
Prepare bank resolutions for submission to the board
Assist with the tracking of revenue from all organizational resources
Review monthly office reconciliations for trust and litigation checking accounts
Administer administrative IOLTA account

Salary and Benefits
The Staff Accountant position is full-time at 37.5 hours per week. PSLS offers a salary competitive with similar organizations. The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $84,067 annually. The starting salary for the successful candidate will be determined based on prior relevant experience. PSLS is committed to providing an excellent, comprehensive benefits package to its full-time employees that includes:

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or 5 years of relevant experience required
Strong computer competency is essential, specifically Excel experience and a familiarity with Google Suite
Excellent analytical skills and sound understanding of accounting principles
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of organization, time management, and to meet deadlines consistently
Strong oral/written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as a team member
Some travel is necessary; valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation is required
We will give preference to candidates who have experience providing services to low-income individuals
