Overview

Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Dietary Aide, where your enthusiasm and attention to detail will play a vital role in delivering exceptional nutrition and meal services to our residents. In this energetic position, you'll support the dietary department by assisting with food preparation, serving, sanitation, and ensuring a safe and welcoming dining environment. Your commitment to workplace safety, food handling, and compassionate service will help create a positive experience for our residents and staff alike. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in food service, nutrition, and geriatric care within a supportive team environment.

Duties

Assist with food production and meal preparation in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards
Serve meals to residents with professionalism, ensuring proper portioning and presentation
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, dining rooms, and food storage spaces following health regulations such as JCAHO standards
Support food handling procedures using personal protective equipment (PPE) to promote safe practices for staff and residents
Help with bussing tables, cleaning dishes, and sanitizing work surfaces to uphold sanitation standards
Assist with manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of supplies or equipment following safe lifting practices
Support the dietary department by adhering to food safety protocols, proper food storage, and sanitation procedures

Experience

Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred
Familiarity with food production, meal preparation, and food service operations is advantageous
Experience working with geriatric patients or in a healthcare setting enhances your ability to meet residents’ nutritional needs
Knowledge of workplace safety practices related to manual handling, sanitation, and food safety regulations such as JCAHO standards is beneficial
Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively while multitasking in a fast-paced environment
Certification in CPR or first aid is a plus but not required; willingness to obtain certification upon hire is expected
Strong customer service skills combined with a compassionate approach are essential for success in this role
