Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Assistant Manager to join our team and drive excellence across store operations. In this pivotal role, you will support the store manager in overseeing daily activities, managing staff, and ensuring exceptional customer service. Your leadership will help foster a vibrant retail environment, optimize sales performance, and maintain operational efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to develop management skills while contributing to a thriving retail setting.

Duties

Assist the store manager in supervising daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
Lead and motivate team members to deliver outstanding customer service and achieve sales targets
Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, and merchandising to maximize sales potential
Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and ensure a positive shopping experience
Support recruiting efforts through interviewing and onboarding new employees
Manage payroll processing, cash handling, and bookkeeping tasks with accuracy and integrity
Coordinate shift schedules, supervise staff performance, and facilitate training & development initiatives

Requirements

Proven experience as an assistant manager or in a supervisory retail role with leadership responsibilities
Strong communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly desirable
Demonstrated expertise in retail math, pricing strategies, and sales management techniques
Proficiency with POS systems, inventory control tools, and cash handling procedures
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of employee orientation, interviewing techniques, and recruiting processes
Experience in managing budgets, merchandising, marketing initiatives, and retail math calculations
Ability to lead teams with confidence while fostering a collaborative work environment
Prior experience in grocery or general retail stores is preferred but not required
