Full Job Description

Los Altos Surgery Center has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Receptionist. The receptionist ensures that all patients, surgeons and visitors are greeted in a timely and friendly fashion. The receptionist is responsible for maintaining work area in a pristine fashion and will perform or assist with clerical/secretarial functions within the office. Travel to nearby centers may be required.

Interpersonal Relationships: As a representative of Payroll Express, LLC, all comments, attitudes, actions and behaviors have a direct affect on the facility’s image and perceptions of quality service. Interaction with patients, families, physicians, referral sources, affiliating schools, visitors, volunteers, co-workers, supervisors, vendors, etc. must be in a manner that is friendly, supportive, courteous, respectful, cooperative, and professional. This behavior should promote an atmosphere of teamwork, which is congruent with facility standards and guidelines to promote positive relations.

Essential Responsibilities will include the following, and other duties may be assigned.

Front-office duties include telephone coverage, patient check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling, new patient registration, checking insurance eligibility and obtaining authorizations, collecting co-pays filling out and submitting insurance forms, sorting mail etc.

Looking for service oriented, professional team player, with ability to work independently. Reliable consistency. Able to multi-task. Computer literacy and familiarity with electronic medical records. Professional appearance and attitude. Front office experience is a requirement.

Qualifications Required:

Licenses or Certifications: None
HST Experience
Total Education, Vocational Training and Experience: High school graduation or equivalent. Medical terminology, computer and office equipment skills required.
Ability to travel to nearby locations when necessary.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to work within the team and independently.
Ability to handle confidential information.
Ability to handle multiple tasks.
Ability to lift objects up to 15 pounds.
Ability to use computer and word processing software. (Word and Excel)
Ability to utilize time effectively.
Excellent professional, organizational, and communication skills.
General office and secretarial skills preferred.
Must treat all patients and employees information as confidential.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to answer phones.
Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Hand/finger agility necessary to typing and computer use.
Good hearing, clear/articulate speech, and visual activity.

Machines/Equipment Used: Computers, copiers, faxes, headsets, postage meter.
