Overview

Life Care Center of Sullivan is seeking a dedicated and experienced RN Staff Development Coordinator to lead our nursing education and training initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in clinical nursing, with expertise in staff training, adult education, and healthcare regulations. This role offers an opportunity to influence the professional growth of nursing staff, ensure compliance with health policies, and promote excellence in patient care. The RN Staff Development Coordinator will serve as a vital resource for clinical instruction, team leadership, and continuous quality improvement within our healthcare organization.

Duties

Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive training programs for nursing staff, including new hire orientation and ongoing professional development.
Facilitate clinical instruction and precepting for nurses across various departments such as critical care, pediatrics, and home care settings.
Ensure all training activities align with state healthcare regulations, HIPAA compliance, and hospital policies to maintain high standards of patient safety and confidentiality.
Maintain accurate medical documentation and records related to staff training activities, certifications, and competency assessments.
Collaborate with department leaders to identify training needs based on clinical performance metrics and regulatory updates.
Lead efforts in adult learning strategies to enhance clinical skills, physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and medical terminology among staff members.
Monitor compliance with health regulation policies and implement corrective actions when necessary to uphold accreditation standards.
Promote a positive learning environment that encourages teamwork, professional growth, and leadership development among nursing personnel.

Skills

Extensive critical care experience combined with nursing home, ICU, or acute care backgrounds.
Proven leadership in nursing education or staff development roles with a focus on training & development initiatives.
Strong knowledge of hospital experience protocols, medical documentation standards, and healthcare regulations including HIPAA and state laws.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for creating educational materials, reports, and tracking documentation.
Expertise in clinical instruction, precepting, adult education principles, and teaching hospital environments.
Excellent communication skills to effectively deliver training sessions and foster team collaboration.
In-depth understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and patient care practices across diverse clinical settings.
