Huge Home Pros is hiring an experienced Lead Remodel Carpenter who can perform high-quality residential remodel, carpentry, repair, and finish work while helping lead jobs from start to finish.
This is not an entry-level helper position, and it is not a bathroom-only, tile-only, or basic handyman position.
We are looking for someone who has a real trade skill or specialty and can bring serious value to the team. That specialty may be finish carpentry, doors and trim, drywall, painting, tile, bathrooms, cabinet installation, carpentry repairs, framing, or another remodel-related skill.
We are not looking for someone who is average at everything. We are looking for someone who is genuinely strong at something valuable and is also willing to jump in on other work they are capable of doing.
Our work is roughly:
- 25% kitchen/ bathroom and tile work
- 25% general repairs/ handyman-style work
- 50% general carpentry, finish carpentry, carpentry repairs, and painting
Some jobs are detailed and custom. Some jobs are smaller repairs. Some jobs are in beautiful homes. Some jobs are in places that are not glamorous or especially fun to work in. We do our best to keep projects organized, professional, and enjoyable, but the right person needs to be willing to do quality work without ego, no matter the size or type of job.
The right person has a main skill they are proud of, but they do not act like smaller jobs, repairs, prep work, punch-list items, painting, drywall, or general remodel tasks are beneath them.
We are a growing company, and we are looking for someone who wants steady work, lots of hours, long-term opportunity, and the chance to grow into leading jobs more independently over time.
You will not be completely on your own. We provide helpers and additional support when needed, and we bring in licensed trades for plumbing, electrical, or specialty work when required. But you do need to be capable of staying productive, following scopes, solving problems, communicating clearly, and producing quality work without being micromanaged.
The Type of Person We’re Looking For
We are looking for a skilled remodel professional who has a clear strength.
That strength could be:
- Finish carpentry
- Doors, casing, baseboards, crown, and trim
- Cabinet or vanity installation
- Drywall repair and texture matching
- Interior painting and detailed prep work
- Tile installation
- Bathroom remodels
- Shower tile and waterproofing
- Schluter shower systems
- Framing or carpentry repairs
- Plumbing-related remodel work
- High-level punch-list and finish work
You do not need to be excellent at every trade. But you should be able to clearly say what you are best at, show photos of that work, and back it up with references.
At the same time, this is a team role. We need someone who is willing to help with other work they are proficient at when the job requires it.
The right person can say, “This is what I’m best at,” while still being willing to help the company get the job done.
What You’ll Achieve in This Role
In this role, your success will be measured by the quality of your work, your productivity, the client experience, and the trust you build with the team.
You will:
- Help deliver remodel, carpentry, repair, and improvement projects that earn 5-star reviews
- Become a dependable person that managers and coworkers can lean on
- Take ownership of jobs from prep through final punch-list
- Produce clean carpentry, trim, drywall, painting, tile, and finish work
- Create a client experience where homeowners feel informed, respected, and confident
- Help prevent callbacks by doing prep, layout, installation, and finish details the right way
- Lead helpers in a productive, professional, and organized way
- Support the team on both larger remodel projects and smaller service jobs
- Help the company grow through quality work, client referrals, and repeat business
- Be recognized and rewarded for strong production, clean communication, and dependable results
- Build a long-term position with a growing company that values craftsmanship, accountability, and teamwork
What You’ll Do
- Perform and help lead residential remodel, repair, and improvement projects
- Complete finish carpentry, trim, baseboards, casing, doors, hardware, and punch-list work
- Perform carpentry repairs and general construction repairs
- Perform drywall repairs, patching, texture matching, and prep work when needed
- Perform painting, touch-ups, and finish work when needed
- Install vanities, cabinets, fixtures, accessories, shelving, and finish items
- Perform smaller handyman-style jobs professionally and without ego
- Perform tile work when needed, including floors, backsplashes, repairs, bathroom tile, and finish details
- Assist with bathroom remodels, shower prep, waterproofing, and tile installation when needed
- Read and follow scopes of work
- Coordinate with managers, helpers, clients, and licensed trades
- Keep job sites clean, protected, organized, and safe
- Upload job photos, notes, and updates through company apps
- Identify change-order opportunities when additional work is needed
- Represent the company professionally in occupied homes
Required Experience
You must have proven experience in residential remodeling, carpentry, or a related skilled trade.
We are especially interested in candidates who have a clear specialty or strongest area of skill, such as finish carpentry, drywall, tile, bathrooms, painting, framing, cabinet installation, or remodel repairs.
You should be able to clearly explain what type of work you are best at, show photos of that work, and provide references who can speak to your quality, reliability, and professionalism.
You must have proven experience with:
- Residential remodeling, carpentry, or high-level remodel work
- A clear trade specialty or strongest skill area
- Finish carpentry, trim, doors, or detailed installation work
- Carpentry repairs and general construction repairs
- Drywall repair, patching, or basic texture matching
- Painting, prep, or touch-up work
- Reading and following a scope of work
- Working cleanly in occupied homes
- Communicating professionally with clients and team members
- Showing up on time and staying productive throughout the day
- Solving problems without creating chaos or excuses
You do not need to be a master of every trade, but you do need to be highly capable, dependable, productive, and willing to perform a variety of remodel, repair, carpentry, finish, and punch-list work when needed.
This is not a role for someone who claims they can do everything but cannot show strong work in any specific area.
Tile and Bathroom Experience
Tile experience is a major plus for this role.
Experience with the following can increase your value to our team:
- Tile floors
- Backsplashes
- Bathroom tile
- Tile repairs
- Shower wall tile
- Shower pans
- Niches, trims, edges, transitions, and grout
- Schluter shower systems
- Shower waterproofing from start to finish
- Full shower tile installations
You do not need to be a full-time tile setter to be considered, but you should have respect for proper prep, layout, waterproofing, and clean finish details.
If you have experience waterproofing showers with Schluter or similar systems, please be ready to explain your process and provide photos of your work.
