Full Job Description

Role Summary

West Modular Manufacturing is seeking a Controller to lead financial strategy, GAAP compliance, WIP reporting, treasury operations, and systems oversight.

West Manufacturing (WM) is a modular construction and development company located in both San Diego, CA and Mexico. WM is innovating the industry by combining traditional on-site construction with optimized off-site factory assembly line processes. WM has developed a process that will start a transformative change on a massive scale — not only optimizing industry productivity, but also drastically reducing the carbon footprint of construction and sourcing sustainable materials whenever possible.

Core Responsibilities

Financial leadership and long-range planning.
Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
Manage WIP reporting, job costing, and project margin controls.
Oversee AP workflows and internal controls.
Lead treasury, banking, and cash flow forecasting.
Maintain strong internal controls and audit readiness.
Build management reporting packages and KPI dashboards.

Required Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
CPA or currently pursuing a CPA, preferred
5 + years’ experience in Construction or Manufacturing industry required
Systems experience in Sage Intacct, ModuCore, Bill.com are preferred
Spanish bi-lingual work experience is highly preferred
Proven self-starter, highly motivated individual
Ability to navigate complex organizations, quickly gain business insights and influence transparency.
Careful attention to detail and the ability to organize and manage deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Problem solving expertise with a proven track record of identifying operational opportunities and executing action plans to close gaps in aligning finance maturity capabilities to business demand.
Possess strong collaboration, mentoring and leadership skills.

Work Expectations

On-site work expectations, San Diego. 2-3 days/week
Remote or office share space available.
Ability to travel between both Mexico and CA locations regularly.
