Job Summary

Join our dynamic hospitality team as a Barback, where your energy and enthusiasm will play a vital role in creating an exceptional experience for our guests. As a key support to our bartenders and service staff, you will ensure the bar area remains clean, well-stocked, and efficiently managed. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help maintain a lively, safe, and welcoming environment for all patrons. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in food service, beverage handling, and hospitality operations while working in a fast-paced venue.

Duties

Assist bartenders by restocking bar supplies, garnishes, glassware, and beverages swiftly and accurately.
Maintain cleanliness of the bar area through regular cleaning, sanitizing surfaces, and proper waste disposal.
Buss tables and clear used glassware or dishes promptly to ensure a tidy environment.
Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies and equipment with proper technique to ensure safety.
Support food preparation activities when needed, including basic food handling and safety compliance.
Manage bar inventory by tracking stock levels using POS (Point of Sale) systems like Micros POS or Aloha POS.
Ensure adherence to food service bar safety standards and alcohol regulations at all times.
Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate service flow during busy hours.
Assist with venue beverage service during events such as banquets or catering functions.
Support cash handling procedures when required, including cashiering duties using POS systems.

Skills

Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially within bars or venues serving beverages.
Strong cleaning skills with knowledge of sanitation standards applicable to bars and food handling areas.
Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and manual handling safely and efficiently.
Excellent communication skills to interact positively with team members and guests.
Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or Aloha POS for order processing and inventory management.
Previous experience in catering, banquet service, or hotel hospitality is advantageous.
Knowledge of food industry safety standards and alcohol service regulations.
Customer service orientation with a friendly attitude that enhances guest experience.
Basic math skills for cash handling, order calculations, and inventory tracking.
Experience working in high-volume venues or large-scale events like banquets is preferred.
