Full Job Description

Overview

Medimax is a leading provider of medical imaging equipment and healthcare solutions in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our Accounting Department.

The Accounting Assistant will provide support with daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and assist with administrative tasks that contribute to the efficient operation of the department. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their accounting career while working alongside an experienced team.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily accounting activities, including accounts payable and accounts receivable support.
Enter and maintain accurate financial data in the accounting system.
Process invoices, expense reports, and other accounting documentation.
Assist with account reconciliations and month-end closing activities.
Prepare, organize, and maintain accounting records and files.
Generate reports and maintain spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
Respond to vendor and customer inquiries regarding invoices and payments.
Answer and direct incoming telephone calls when needed.
Assist with audits and special accounting projects.
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Bilingual (English and Spanish).
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred

One or more years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
Experience with Sage or other accounting software.
Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting support.
