Assistant General Manager

Comfort Inn & Suites Salt Lake City Airport, managed by Magnus Hotel Management, is looking for an Assistant General Manager to help lead our team and continue delivering exceptional guest experiences.

This is a hands-on leadership position that combines hotel operations, sales, team development, and administrative responsibilities. We're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, developing employees, growing business, and creating a welcoming environment for every guest.

About You

You have a genuine passion for hospitality and understand that every guest interaction matters. You enjoy working with people, solving problems, and leading by example. You're equally comfortable building relationships with local businesses as you are reviewing reports, coaching employees, or stepping in to help wherever needed.

Position Summary

The Assistant General Manager partners with the General Manager to oversee the daily operation of the hotel while helping drive revenue, maintain brand standards, and develop a strong, service-focused team.

Responsibilities

Assist with the daily operation of the hotel.
Support sales efforts by developing relationships with local businesses, corporate accounts, and community partners.
Identify opportunities to increase occupancy and grow hotel revenue.
Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop team members.
Lead daily operations in the absence of the General Manager.
Ensure exceptional guest service and resolve guest concerns professionally.
Monitor guest satisfaction scores, online reviews, and brand standards.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and financial reporting.
Maintain operational records, direct billing, accounts receivable, and cash controls.
Conduct routine inspections to ensure the property is clean, safe, and well maintained.
Monitor inventory, supplies, and maintenance projects.
Ensure compliance with company policies and Choice Hotels brand standards.
Work alongside all departments as business needs require.
Respond to operational issues and emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

Hotel leadership experience preferred.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Sales experience or the ability to build business relationships.
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Ability to lead and motivate a team.
Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.

This is a full-time exempt position. Salary is commensurate with experience.
