Heat Treating Services Corporation of America (HTS) is a family-owned and operated company founded in 1978. As part of our commitment to superior customer service, we have continued to expand by installing furnaces and acquiring facilities to meet specific customer requirements. We are capable of processing 84 million pounds per month.

The HR Generalist is a valuable member of the Human Resources Department whose tasks are a critical component to the successful operation of the Company. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter who is committed to be an integral part of the team and motivated by a challenging work environment where there is potential for growth and advancement.

Overview
The human resource generalist performs duties at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, affirmative action and employment equity program, benefits management, and payroll functions. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The generalist must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill and the business needs.

Responsibilities

1. Maintains all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies.

2. Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action.

3. Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner. Attends unemployment hearings when necessary.

4. Performs recruitment tasks (creates job descriptions, reviews applications, interviews).

5. Acts as an employee relations specialist.

6. Monitors tardy and absenteeism reports and ensures proper documentation is issued on employees who have excessive tardiness or absenteeism problems. Reports vacation, sick, personal day and holiday use to payroll and scheduling. Maintains and distributes report of same.

7. Maintains employee personnel files.

8. Maintains and updates employee data in Paycom.

9. Enters and process hourly payroll (Weekly).

10. Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits Forms I-9.

11. Assists with creation of employee performance evaluations, distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner (i.e., three months, six months, one year and yearly thereafter).

12. Updates, monitors and maintains eligible salary adjustments/increases based on three- and six-month and one-year evaluations.

13. Reports, maintains and monitors all injury reporting; follows-up on open cases.

14. Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation or changes. Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election process. Maintains and distributes list of new and cancelled employees under each benefit plan. Verifies benefit billing accuracy and processes for payment.

15. Administers COBRA for group health plans.

16. Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.

Required Education and Experience

Human resource experience in this industry.

1. Three to five years of HR generalist experience.

2. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent years of experience.

1. Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other human resource programs.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

1. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) preferred, but not required.
