Full Job Description

A well-established service provider to the Natural Gas Distribution industry with over 60 years of continuous operation originally based in Boston but now expanding into the south making its southern operations center Houston. The Houston office is located inside of City Center Mall just off I10 at Memorial. The Houston office operates with a startup mentality, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute across a wide spectrum of company activities.

Our Company provides field inspection services to Natural Gas Utility Companies utility companies. Candidate would ideally live within 20 min of the Houston office. Job may involve periodic travel to other states for occasional trade events or customer meetings.

This office will be run by an operations management group of approximately 7, of which this support position is a key member. On a team that size everyone has to be in constant communication. Must be comfortable getting on the phone and actively verbally interacting when addressing issues and collaborating with other team members.

Highest Priority Qualifications:

· Ability to take ownership and self-direct

· An action taker that knows how to independently overcome obstacles and keep things moving forward

· Able to maintain operating in a methodical, systematic scheduled approach even when you have to pivot to unscheduled calls from field staff, collogues or upper management, in need of assistance or another matter needs immediate address.

· Knows how to overcome obstacles and initiate intelligent solutions independently

· Has a naturally positive attitude and flexible temperament

· Can coordinate and communicate on a team level to maintain enterprise wide situational awareness

· Articulate, both verbally and in written form – represents well.

· Employee Management Systems, Performance Management Systems and Mobile Device Management all critical to success.

· Advanced Excel, Access and math skills

· QuickBooks, Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable and Payroll experience (ADP, Paychex, etc.) is helpful

There are set responsibilities and scheduled requirements with timelines. But, this position is not just the execution of assigned tasks. It is to stay on top of and maintain situational awareness of multiple situations and fluid operational flows. One needs to have the temperament to shift attention to issues that arise while still making sure to coordinate that the structured scheduled responsibilities stay on track.

Communicates to maintaining group situational awareness within a small management group, when relevant things occur, needs to keep everyone in the loop real time.

Other qualifications:

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

· Ability to produce high quality documents

· Intermediate bookkeeping skills

· Working knowledge of Network and Web Administration

· Preferably an Associates or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, IT, Business or Mathematics

· Human Resource benefits administration a plus

Job responsibilities:

· Manage daily administration of active environment

· Maintain and improve standards for office and operational processes

· Perform accounting, finance, and customer invoicing activities

· Produce daily, weekly & monthly reports

· Assist in the administration of Human Resources activities and benefits programs

· Answer Phones; Manage office correspondence including mail, e-mail and voice mail

· Maintain and coordinate company schedules and contacts

· Assist with production of presentations and reports

Start rate of $20-$27 per hour and to increase tied to company performance.

Job Types: Temporary, Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
