The Area Agency on Aging, Region One is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to enhancing the quality of life for older adults, individuals with disabilities, and caregivers within the community. We focus on advocacy, service coordination, and developing programs that meet the evolving needs of our diverse population.

<Overview>
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in payroll management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to ensure accurate payroll processing while supporting our organization’s mission to serve vulnerable populations effectively.

<Responsibilities>

I. MAJOR DUTIES

A. Prepare semi-monthly payroll

Collect & check timesheets
Necessary leave statements attached & verified
Enter P/R in CYMA, check entries, run checks
Post P/R to General Ledger
Enter into A/P tax, support and insurance payments, run checks
Have all checks signed by two authorized signatories
Prepare checks for distribution or mailing
File all generated reports into locked cabinets

B. Prepare monthly insurance & employee benefits schedules & payments

United Healthcare
Delta Dental
AFLAC Insurances
UNUM Disability
UNUM Term Insurance
Medical Life Insurance
LegalShield
Pet Insurance
File all generated reports into locked cabinets

C. Prepare monthly schedules for:

State Unemployment & Workers' Comp
FLEX Allocation
Annuity Payment
FICA Allocation
File all generated reports into locked cabinets

D. Quarterly P/R taxes

FWT/FICA
State Taxes
P/R withholding
Workers' Comp
State Unemployment
File all generated reports into locked cabinets

E. Annual

Balance P/R for year, run W-2's. ACA (1095-C)
Prepare federal and state tax reports
Prepare 5500's for FLEX and 401(k)
Payroll Reports/Audit requests
File all generated reports into locked cabinet

<Qualifications>

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required; minimum five years payroll experience; strong knowledge of Microsoft suite (especially Excel); knowledge of tax laws and payroll regulations is essential; knowledge of fringe benefit activities and accrual systems; ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity; strong problem-solving skills to resolve payroll discrepancies and issues; must be able to communicate and work well with others; must have a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Pay: $70,000.00 per year
