Full Job Description

Position Overview: We are a high volume, results oreinted personal injury law firm and we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our intake department as a Claim Opener. The Claim Opener plays a critical role in our firm by efficiently and accurately processing new client claims and ensuring that all necessary information is collected to initiate the legal process.

Key Responsibilities

Contact auto insurance carriers to open new claims
Obtain and document claim numbers, adjuster information, and policy details
Verify insurance coverage (liability, UM/UIM, PIP/MedPay when applicable)
Accurately enter all claim and insurance data into the case management system
Handle high outbound call volume daily with professionalism and efficiency
Follow up with carriers as needed to secure missing or updated information
Ensure all information is complete, accurate, and timely for downstream teams

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong phone presence and confidence speaking with insurance adjusters
Ability to manage high call volume without sacrificing accuracy
Tech-savvy and comfortable working across multiple systems/screens
Detail-oriented with excellent documentation skills
Organized, reliable, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-moving environment
Prior experience in claims, intake, call centers, or legal support is a plus (not required)

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
Previous experience in a fast-paced office environment, preferably in a legal setting.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional demeanor.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a high-volume setting.
Proficiency in data entry and computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.
Knowledge of personal injury law or legal terminology is a plus but not required.
