Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Youth Development Professional in Tulsa, where your passion for empowering young minds will make a lasting impact! In this vital role, you will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children and adolescents through innovative programming, mentorship, and educational activities. Your energy and dedication will inspire youth to reach their full potential while fostering their social, emotional, and developmental growth. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to shape the future of young individuals while developing your skills in youth engagement and program management.

Duties

Develop and implement age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, social skills, and positive behavior management.
Maintain a safe and inclusive environment by applying classroom management techniques and adhering to first aid and CPR protocols.
Supervise children during various activities, ensuring safety standards are upheld at all times.
Collaborate with team members to plan educational lessons, recreational activities, and special events that cater to diverse needs, including those with special education requirements.
Provide tutoring support and assist with homework help to reinforce learning objectives.
Manage behavior effectively using positive reinforcement strategies and childhood development best practices.
Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, or caregivers regarding children's progress and any concerns related to behavior or well-being.

Requirements

Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp programs, or youth organizations is highly preferred.
Knowledge of early childhood education principles, behavior management techniques, and childhood development stages.
Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols are required or obtainable upon hire.
Demonstrated ability to implement quality programs for youth manage classrooms or group activities effectively through classroom management skills.
Experience working with children in inclusive settings is a plus.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
High School Degree required.
Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
Ability to work as a productive member of a team with fellow staff and volunteers
