Full Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to support multiple businesses owned by the same ownership group. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who is highly proficient in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise and comfortable managing accounting functions across multiple company entities.

Our businesses include property management and a service/distribution company specializing in air compressors. The successful candidate will work closely with ownership, office staff, and our outside CPA to ensure accurate financial records and timely reporting.

This position is based in our Omaha office. While the schedule is flexible, hours should generally fall within our normal business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities

Manage bookkeeping for multiple company entities using QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise
Manage accounts payable and vendor payments
Manage accounts receivable and customer payments
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other balance sheet accounts
Maintain accurate general ledger records
Ensure property management transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled
Prepare monthly financial reports and management reports
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Coordinate with outside CPA for tax preparation, quarterly filings, and financial reviews
Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
Provide occasional front-office coverage as needed with other office staff

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of recent QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise experience
Minimum 5 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience
Experience managing accounting for multiple companies/entities
Strong understanding of:
Accounts Payable
Accounts Receivable
Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations
Financial Reporting
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications

QuickBooks Certification
Bookkeeping Certification
Experience with property management accounting
Experience with construction, contractor, service, or trades-based businesses
Experience working directly with outside CPAs and auditors
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who enjoys working in a small business environment and can confidently manage accounting functions across multiple related companies. They should be comfortable switching between entities, maintaining accuracy in financial records, and providing reliable reporting to ownership and our CPA.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
