Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Program Director to lead the launch and daily operations of a new early childhood education center in the Bronx. This is a unique opportunity to build a high-quality childcare program from the ground up by establishing operational systems, recruiting and leading staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children and families.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development aligned with best practices in early childhood education.
Lead strategic planning initiatives to expand program offerings, improve quality standards, and enhance community engagement.
Supervise and evaluate faculty and staff through ongoing performance reviews, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to childcare licensing, special education law, and school legal requirements.
Oversee personnel management tasks such as hiring, onboarding, training, and personnel management in accordance with education administration standards.
Foster a positive team environment through leadership in faculty evaluation processes and instructional leadership in early childhood education practices.
Engage actively with families to build trust, communicate program goals, and support children’s individual needs.
Collaborate with external agencies on special education services and legal compliance issues affecting the center.

Requirements

Strong background in curriculum development tailored for early childhood or preschool-aged children.
Knowledge of school legal requirements including licensing standards, special education law, and classroom safety protocols.
Experience with instructional leadership in early childhood or K-12 settings coupled with classroom teaching experience.
Familiarity with managing programs that serve diverse student populations including students with special needs.
