This Collections Manager role offers the opportunity to lead and develop a team while playing a key role in optimizing cash flow and strengthening customer relationships. You will have direct impact on financial performance by overseeing collection strategies, resolving escalations, and improving processes within a business-to-business environment.

The position provides a balance of leadership and hands-on problem solving, making it ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring others while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations. With visibility to leadership through reporting and analysis, this role also offers the opportunity to influence decision-making and drive continuous improvement within the accounts receivable function.

Job Description:

The Collections Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily collections process, managing a team of collectors, and ensuring timely resolution of outstanding receivables. This role focuses on driving efficiency, resolving escalations, and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee day-to-day business-to-business collection activities
Supervise, mentor, and support a team of collections professionals
Provide training, guidance, and performance feedback to team members
Review delinquent accounts and determine appropriate collection strategies
Analyze and resolve escalated customer inquiries and disputes in a timely and professional manner
Monitor aging reports and track key performance metrics related to collections
Prepare and analyze reports for leadership, providing insights and recommendations
Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing or account discrepancies
Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures related to collections
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in collections or accounts receivable
Experience in a business-to-business collections environment preferred

Skills & Abilities:

Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Effective communication and conflict resolution skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to make sound decisions and manage escalated situations professionally
