THE OPPORTUNITY
Factory Direct Supply is looking for a driven, contractor-focused leader to grow our Cocoa location's market presence across the Space Coast. The shop runs. The warehouse is covered. The back office is in order. What we need now is someone who can get in front of the right GCs, estimators, and developers — build genuine relationships, deliver on their expectations, and win repeat business.
Factory Direct Supply is a Florida-based integrated building materials company with six locations across the state. We deliver structural steel fabrication and installation, rebar fabrication, and full-service contractor supply distribution — all from one team. That integrated capability is rare in this market, and it is our strongest sales asset. The Cocoa location serves the Space Coast — one of Florida's most dynamic construction markets, with a steady pipeline of residential, commercial, and aerospace-adjacent projects — and is positioned to grow.

WHAT YOU WILL FOCUS ON
Market Development
- Identify and pursue structural steel, rebar, and building materials opportunities across residential and mid-size commercial segments in Brevard County and surrounding markets
- Build a consistent pipeline of GC, developer, and shell builder relationships through in-person engagement and disciplined follow-through
- Represent FDS as the go-to integrated supplier for contractors who want one reliable source for structural packages
Estimating & Contracting
- Develop accurate structural steel estimates — material takeoffs, labor, connection details, erection logistics, and margin targets
- Present proposals professionally, handle objections, and close work
- Manage contracts with discipline around scope, schedule, and change orders
Customer Experience & Retention
- Own the client relationship from first contact through project completion and beyond
- Coordinate with the shop, field, and counter teams to ensure that what is promised in the sales process is delivered in the field
- Turn first-time customers into long-term accounts by delivering a level of service and responsiveness that larger competitors cannot match
Distribution Counter Growth
- Grow counter sales of rebar, accessories, anchor bolts, embeds, and related structural materials to GCs, shell contractors, and trades
- Develop builder and contractor relationships that generate consistent repeat business alongside fabrication work
- Position FDS's integrated supply model as the smarter alternative to managing multiple vendors
Location Leadership & P&L
- Own the location's revenue, gross margin, and overhead — full accountability
- Work alongside established shop, field, and counter leadership to align execution with sales commitments
- Report directly to the COO with transparent weekly metrics on pipeline, backlog, and margin performance
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The successful candidate combines genuine structural steel and construction materials knowledge with the drive and relationship skills to grow a market. You speak a contractor's language, you understand what AISC-compliant fabrication entails, and you have a proven track record of building a customer base and winning work.
Required Background
- Solid background in structural steel fabrication, construction materials, or a closely related field — you can speak a contractor's language fluently
- Proven track record of growing a customer base and winning new work — estimating experience is a strong plus
- Direct customer-facing sales experience: comfortable prospecting, presenting, and closing
- Familiarity with building materials distribution and contractor supply serving GC and shell builder segments
- Relationship-first approach: you build trust, follow through, and earn loyalty
Ideal Profile
- Prior experience running a small-to-mid structural steel operation, division, or location as a lead operator or owner
- Existing relationships with Brevard County or Space Coast GCs, developers, or commercial builders
- Self-directed and hungry — you do not need to be managed, you need to be resourced
- High integrity, low ego, high output — you build things and hold people accountable without drama

Pay: $75,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
