Position Summary

Under the overall direction of the Senior Manager, the HR Generalist fulfills a wide variety of human resource and agency administration functions including but not limited to the following:

· Employee engagement

· HR policy development and administration

· Agency risk management

· Applicant tracking system administrator

· Employee benefits development (new product line for customers)

As a leader within the agency, the HR Generalist leads by example demonstrating the values of the Bitner Henry Insurance Group. These values include, but are not limited to, servant leadership, excellence, integrity, teamwork, and an entrepreneurial spirit. Working in a collaborative way with teammates is essential.

Practically speaking, the HR Generalist leads by example in the following ways:

1. Sets challenging goals for self and others for implementing organizational goals.

2. Regularly available to leadership to report on the status people strategies.

3. Overcomes obstacles, solves problems, and inspires others.

4. Aligns on-going activity to the larger overall vision set by executive leadership.

5. Always learning.

Key elements of success in this role include an in-depth understanding of internal processes, reporting, managing deadlines, and working with enterprise technology. Implementing and maintaining strong internal controls and operating procedures and processes will be an essential focus for this position.

Essential Responsibilities:

· Keeps the Senior Manager current by meeting regularly and issuing timely, complete, and accurate reports.

· Aligns recruiting, retention, and development, and evaluation processes of employees.

· Reports on key human resource metrics.

· Following up with managers and leaders on opportunities to improve people processes.

· Ensures that applicant tracking systems are efficient, accurate, and serve the mutual interests of applicants and the agency.

· Develops and implements agency risk management initiatives.

· Maintains a working knowledge of human resource laws and regulations.

· Assist in benefits administration for employees.

· In cooperation with field agents, develop client proposals for employee benefit plans; and maintain accurate records of these plans in our CRM.

· Develops and monitors compensation models.

· Maintains confidentiality of sensitive company and client information.

Role Qualifications

· Clear and concise listener and communicator

· Committed to continuous learning of industry best practices.

· Manages multiple priorities to completion including monitoring of deadlines.

· Ability to learn Insurance agency operations.

Skills and Experience

· Minimum of 8-10 years of human resource experience required.

· Strong skills and experience with enterprise (IT) systems.

· Experience with a professional service provider is preferred.

Education

· Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field required.

· Master’s degree a plus.

· Health insurance license or ability to obtain one.

· A professional HR designation or relevant experience plus a willingness to earn a professional designation is required.

Base pay $85K to $110K annually

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; stand; sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the employee to have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive a car.
Work environment: Fast paced, minimal noise, team orientation.
