Job title: Independent Sales Representative — Furniture

Independent, commission-based contractor role (1099) — not a salaried position.

While DISTRICT EIGHT is an international brand, we are firmly established in North America, with:

A domestic branch
A North Carolina-based warehouse and logistics setup, with support that scales as regional volume grows
Support for showroom partners, designers, and specifiers

This means our partners get both the depth of an international design studio and the reliability of a local operation.

Who This Role Is For

We are looking for external representatives who:

Understands the premium furniture and design-led interiors market.
Currently represents, or has previously represented, furniture and/or other premium or luxury-segment product lines
Communicates with clarity, honesty, and confidence
Appreciate quality craftsmanship, materials, and thoughtful design, and can communicate their value with authenticity.
Loves interior design and architecture, and follows the industry beyond trends
Is drawn to brands that combine contemporary design with a strong sense of place, craftsmanship, and an authentic Asian design narrative.
Has an existing network of high-end showrooms, design studios, and industry professionals
Brings an upbeat, curious, and forward-thinking energy
Enjoys curating relationships and introducing new ideas that shape a brand’s long-term presence, not just pushing product
Is comfortable working with an international team, different cultures, and time zones

What You’ll Do

Represent District Eight across assigned territories in North America
Build and maintain relationships with:

- Design-forward furniture showrooms

- Interior designers and architects

- Select retailers and specifiers aligned with DISTRICT EIGHT’s values

Present collections with integrity and accuracy — no over-promising
Leverage our North Carolina-based branch and warehouse, with logistics support that scales as your territory’s volume grows
Act as a cultural and commercial bridge between the North American market and our international team
Provide thoughtful feedback on market response, positioning, and long-term opportunities
Contribute to sustainable growth through long-term partnerships, not short-term wins

How We Work

Independent representative model — you must operate as a self-employed sales agent or rep firm (1099 contractor), not as an employee
You are expected to carry your own business entity, insurance, and cover your own operating expenses including travel, samples, and overhead
Commission-based structure with room to grow as the brand grows
You may represent other non-competing lines; exclusivity is not required, but dedication is
Direct access to DISTRICT EIGHT’s commercial and product teams
High level of trust, autonomy, and accountability

1. Client Profile: What types of clients do you typically work with (e.g. game room retailers, hospitality designers, residential developers, country clubs)?

2. Sales Approach: How do you introduce and position a design-led (vs price-driven) product to a client?
3. Market & Network: Do you represent any furniture or premium home lines? Would Game Tables & Leisure fit without conflict? Do you have relationships with showrooms, retailers, clubs, or professionals in the luxury game room/entertainment furnishings space?
4. Product Adaptation: Our game tables are design-led and material-focused. How comfortable are you presenting products at the intersection of furniture design and entertainment? Have you worked across categories before?
5. Motivation: What interests you about working with a design-led brand like District Eight, specifically in the game table category?
