Bar Manager / Front of House Manager – High-End Restaurant

Hands-On Leadership | Full-Time Employee

Compensation

$40,000–$45,000 base salary
Plus tips estimated to be no less than a total of $60000
Based on current operations, tips historically average approximately $30,000 per year
Estimated total annual compensation: $70,000–$75,000

Position Overview

We are hiring a Bar Manager / Front of House Manager for a high-end restaurant. This is a working management role. You will bartend, serve, and manage. This is not a desk job and not a supervisory-only position.

You will work closely with the Executive Chef to deliver a seamless, high-quality guest experience. Professionalism, consistency, and teamwork are non-negotiable.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all front-of-house and bar operations
Bartend and serve as needed during service
Hire, train, schedule, discipline, and terminate FOH and bar staff
Maintain high-end service standards and guest experience
Manage bar inventory, ordering, receiving, and storage
Control pour costs, comps, waste, and inventory accuracy
Coordinate service flow and events with the Executive Chef
Execute FOH service for private events, banquets, and special functions
Ensure compliance with alcohol laws, health codes, and safety standards
Address guest issues calmly and professionally
Maintain a respectful, drama-free service culture

Required Experience

Experience as a Bar Manager, FOH Manager, Restaurant Manager, or Lead Bartender
Background in high-end or upscale dining environments
Strong inventory and ordering experience
Proven ability to manage staff and hold standards
Comfortable bartending and serving at a professional level
Strong communication and leadership skills
Emotionally steady under pressure
