Full Job Description

IT Managed Services Provider (MSP) seeking an experienced Microsoft Windows support engineer who will work from a Massachusetts home office location and occasionally visit supported business locations in the greater Boston area. Successful candidate will be the primary point of contact for end-users seeking MS Windows IT support. Applicant must have a proven track record of the highest work ethic with, at minimum, 2 years of IT troubleshooting and remediation experience both remote helpdesk services and in the field.

Candidates for consideration must possess strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills and understand basic Windows systems administration. Daily support tasks performed may include the support and installation of peripherals, hardware and software and working with local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, firewalls, switches, desktop computers and other data communication systems. Candidate must have reliable transportation and be available for on-site remediation whenever necessary.

Support Role Responsibilities:

Respond to helpdesk incoming calls using RMM ticketing software.
Troubleshoot and provide remote IT support pertaining to end-user technical issues involving Microsoft’s core business applications and operating systems.
Provide technical support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, switches, firewalls and connected peripheral devices.
Provide on-site hardware remediation and end-user support when needed
Monitor and manage system alerts and notifications.
Timely communication with customers keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes, and setting appropriate expectations for resolution times.
Provide friendly, professional IT support via phone, email and on-site
Work with the Office 365 admin. portal to resolve user issues (password resets, new user creation, license assignment, software installation etc.)
Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues as necessary.
Learn new technologies and participate in vendor training and certification programs.
Find ways to improve customer service, perception, and satisfaction.
Manage Helpdesk requests, SLAs, and remediation
Assist all managed services accounts with network and remote connectivity issues.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2+ years IT helpdesk troubleshooting and remediation
Computer and network hardware installation, maintenance and remediation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Well organized and able to handle multiple tasks to successful completion.
Team player with an enthusiastic can-do attitude.
Must be motivated towards constantly improving technical skills.
Proficient with Windows10/11, Office 365, Windows Server
Proficient with network protocols (LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
Proficient with Active Directory
Experience with virtual environments, cloud computing, business continuity and network infrastructure
Assigning and updating security permissions.
Supporting end-users on the correct use of software and hardware within the network system.
Performing and assigning problem-solving tasks when alerted by a user or monitoring system.

Technical Experience Must Have Skills

Windows OS/Server.
Active Directory.
Working with and supporting network protocols.
Troubleshooting and diagnostic experience.
MS Office 365/Azure AD Administration.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Technical Experience/ Skills Desired:

Virtualization and shared storage solutions/Cloud computing solutions
Scripting & Automation via ConnectWise Automate or similar RMM
A+, Network+ or comparable MS Certification

Required experience:

IT Support: 2+year equivalent work experience preferably with an MSP.

Required license or certification:

MA Drivers

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
