Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Travel Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Emergency Room (ER), Operating Room (OR), and Medical-Surgical (MS/Tele) units to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role offers the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care across diverse clinical settings, including trauma centers, outpatient surgical units, and inpatient medical-surgical floors. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in acute care environments, demonstrate proficiency with advanced medical technologies, and be committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based nursing care. As a Travel RN, you will support hospitals and clinics nationwide by filling critical staffing needs while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in ER, OR, MS, and Telemetry units, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs.
Administer medications and treatments with precision, including IV infusions, suturing, and aseptic techniques.
Monitor vital signs and physiological parameters using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner to ensure timely documentation and communication.
Assist with complex procedures such as cardiac catheterization, trauma medicine interventions, and ventilator management.
Provide triage services for incoming patients, prioritizing care based on acuity levels in fast-paced environments.
Support post-operative recovery by managing pain control protocols and wound care.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans aligned with hospital standards and patient needs.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols while maintaining patient safety.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and health maintenance strategies.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on patient outcomes and safety metrics.

Requirements

Valid RN license in the state of practice; current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred.
Minimum of two years of recent experience in emergency medicine, operating room procedures, or medical-surgical units within acute care settings.
Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) is advantageous.
Critical care experience including ICU or Level I/II trauma center exposure highly preferred.
Skilled in advanced nursing procedures such as suturing, catheterization (urinary or vascular), phlebotomy, IV insertion/infusion management, and aseptic technique.
Knowledge of hospital protocols for infectious disease control, trauma medicine practices, and acute pain management.
Ability to adapt quickly to diverse clinical environments while maintaining high-quality patient care standards.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams across various healthcare settings.
