Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help support our organization’s financial health and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is passionate about numbers, highly organized, and possesses a strong understanding of various accounting software and financial concepts. Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations using QuickBooks Online accounting software.
Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data across multiple accounts
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections
Maintain the general ledger by recording transactions accurately in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for internal review and external reporting purposes
Conduct account analysis and general ledger reconciliation to verify the integrity of financial data
Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements as needed

Skills

Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or similar platforms
Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting
Knowledge of financial concepts including budgeting, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis
Experience with governmental accounting standards and non-profit accounting practices is a plus
Ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently for data entry tasks
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform accurate account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation
Familiarity with payroll processing, tax experience, and financial report writing
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
