Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator/Fitter to join our manufacturing team. This role involves performing precise welding, fabrication, and fitting tasks to produce high-quality metal components and assemblies. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in construction site environments, interpret technical drawings accurately, and adhere strictly to safety protocols. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to complex projects that require mechanical knowledge, fabrication expertise, and proficiency with various welding techniques. All roles are compensated, including internships, emphasizing the importance of safety, quality, and efficiency in every task.

Duties

Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine specifications and dimensions.
Perform welding operations using various techniques such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) according to AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
Fabricate metal components from sheet metal, pipe materials, and other metal materials using plasma cutting, machining, and hand tools.
Measure materials accurately with calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication.
Assemble fabricated parts through welding, fitting, pipe threading, and mechanical fastening processes.
Operate power tools safely for cutting, grinding, drilling, and assembly tasks on construction sites or fabrication shops.
Maintain compliance with safety protocols at all times while handling heavy equipment such as cranes or working at heights on construction sites.
Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while ensuring quality standards are met consistently.

Skills

Extensive construction site experience with a solid understanding of safety procedures.
Proficiency in interpreting mechanical blueprints and technical drawings.
Skilled in various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding.
Strong mechanical knowledge related to fabrication shop processes and metal materials.
Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers accurately.
Experience with sheet metal fabrication, pipe threading, plasma cutting, machining, and assembly.
Familiarity with power tools and hand tools essential for fabrication tasks.
Knowledge of AWS standards for welding quality assurance.
Mechanical blueprint interpretation skills combined with shop math proficiency.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to fabrication.
