We’re looking for a creative, hands-on Pastry Chef & Culinary Lead to help build something special from the ground up.

Everyday Coffee is a new health café and wellness center focused on food that is beautiful, nourishing, thoughtfully sourced, and genuinely delicious. We’re looking for someone who loves baking, enjoys creating new recipes, and wants the opportunity to have a part in shaping a food program.

This is a hands-on kitchen role with room to be creative. You’ll lead our pastry program.

Our food philosophy is simple: real ingredients, clean preparation, and food that makes people feel good. We are seed-oil-free, avoid artificial flavors and additives, and prioritize organic and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.

What You'll Do

Lead the Pastry Program

Create and produce pastries, breads, desserts, and seasonal baked goods
Develop creative, delicious recipes using high-quality, whole-food ingredients
Experiment with natural sweeteners and alternative baking techniques
Develop seasonal specials and new menu ideas
Test, refine, and standardize recipes
Maintain high standards for flavor, freshness, quality, and presentation

Own Daily Kitchen Production

Lead daily prep and kitchen production
Maintain a clean, organized, efficient kitchen
Ensure food is prepared consistently and to recipe
Manage ingredient ordering, inventory, and par levels
Help control food costs and minimize waste
Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and food-safety practices

Be Part of the Café

Support the café team during busy periods when needed
Help ensure consistency across our food and beverage offerings
Share menu knowledge with the front-of-house team

The Person We're Looking For

You might be a great fit if you:

Love baking and creating food from scratch
Have professional pastry, baking, culinary, or café kitchen experience
Are excited by the opportunity to build a program rather than simply follow one
Have strong attention to detail and pride in your work
Enjoy experimenting with recipes and ingredients
Understand how to balance creativity with consistency
Are comfortable working independently and taking ownership
Enjoy teaching and working with a team
Care about where ingredients come from and how food is prepared
Are interested in wellness, whole-food cooking, and sustainability

Professional pastry or culinary experience is strongly preferred, but we’re more interested in finding the right person than checking every box.

Experience with organic ingredients, alternative baking, natural sweeteners, allergen-friendly baking, or specialty diets is a plus.

Basic coffee knowledge is helpful, but barista experience is not required.

Requirements

Professional kitchen, pastry, baking, or culinary experience

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
Hawai‘i Food Handler certification or ability to obtain
