Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver for a Special Adult to provide personalized support and assistance in a home or community setting. This vital role involves delivering high-quality patient care, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring the well-being and safety of individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, dementia, and other health conditions. The ideal candidate will bring energy, patience, and a proactive attitude to foster independence and enhance quality of life for those they serve.

Duties

Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to promote dignity and comfort.
Monitor beneficiary health, but no medical procedures performed
Support beneficiary in prepping and cooking meals
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards.
Provide companionship and emotional support to foster social interaction and reduce feelings of isolation.
Maintain accurate care plans, document beneficiary progress, and communicate effectively with all involved with beneficiary
Assist with transportation for appointments or community outings, ensuring safety during travel.
Follow HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications

Preferred but not mandatory experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments.
Strong knowledge of human mood swings
CPR/First Aid certification provided if hired
Experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with beneficiary and their families.
Ability to work independently while collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team committed to client-centered care.
