Full Job Description

BECKHAM PORTELA is a boutique commercial litigation law firm located in Uptown Dallas. We are seeking an experienced, senior-level litigation attorney who enjoys practicing law, values excellent client service, and is capable of independently managing complex litigation matters from inception through resolution.

This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned attorney who is confident in his or her abilities, exercises sound judgment, and takes ownership of cases and client matters. Our attorneys work on challenging and sophisticated commercial litigation matters in a collegial, professional environment that values initiative, efficiency, and results.

What You'll Do

Taking ownership of cases and helping move matters efficiently from inception through resolution.
Serving as a primary point of contact for clients and providing practical, strategic advice.
Developing litigation strategy and working with associates and paralegals to implement it.
Overseeing and participating in discovery, depositions, mediation, arbitration, trial preparation, and other court proceedings.
Reviewing and contributing to pleadings, motions, briefs, and other significant work product.
Taking and defending depositions and appearing at hearings and other court proceedings.
Providing guidance and direction to associates and paralegals while maintaining responsibility for the quality and progress of client matters.
Exercising sound judgment, anticipating issues, and taking the initiative necessary to keep cases moving forward.

What We're Looking For

Licensed to practice law in Texas.
Significant commercial litigation or other relevant litigation experience.
Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex litigation matters.
Excellent judgment and the ability to identify and resolve issues without the need for significant oversight.
Exceptional analytical, research, and writing skills.
Strong oral advocacy and communication abilities.
Organized, self-motivated, responsive, and accountable.
A self-starter who takes ownership of assignments and cases and gets things done.
Ability to manage multiple cases, competing priorities, and deadlines independently.
A commitment to providing excellent service and achieving results for clients.
