About Us

42 North Custom Homes is a custom home building company serving Holland, Douglas and the surrounding West Michigan lakeshore. Our sister business, Fifth & River Design Studio, is a boutique design showroom in downtown Holland featuring cabinetry, flooring, tile, hardware and custom furniture. Together we guide clients from concept through completion on high-end custom homes.

Position Summary

We are looking for an organized, self-motivated Office Coordinator to keep our office and showroom running smoothly. This person will assist with daily tasks such as ordering, scheduling, and keeping our showroom looking sharp and welcoming. This position would be a great fit for someone who enjoys a variety of work, takes ownership, and likes meeting new people.

Responsibilities

Scheduling & Meeting Support

Assist in scheduling client and internal meetings as needed
Help confirm appointments and send reminders
Support the team with day-to-day scheduling needs

Showroom Coordination

Maintain the Fifth & River showroom presentation - displays, sample boards, product literature, cleanliness
Keep material and finish samples organized, labeled, and easy for clients and designers to locate
Greet and assist showroom visitors; prepare the showroom ahead of scheduled appointments
Purchasing for designers

Team & Project Support

Provide support to design and adinistrative staff
Assist with document preperation, filing, and organization of project paperwork
Support designers with ordering (primary role of the position)

General Office Operations

Manage incoming calls, emails, and general inqries; route to the appropriate team member
Order and maintain office and showroom supplies
Assist with mail, deliveries, and errands as needed
Support marketing efforts such as newsletters, social media content, and photo organization
Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems

Other Duties as Assigned

Support light bookkeeping tasks (invoice tracking, receipts, expense organization) as needed
Assist with event coordination (client appreciation events, community sponsorships, etc.)
Take on projects supporting the growth of both businesses

Qualifications

2+ years of office administration, coordination or customer-facing experience (construction, design, or real estate industry a plus, not required)
Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
Self-motivated with strong follow-through, comfortable identifying what needs to get done without constant direction
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Profecient with Google Workspace; ability to learn new software quickly
Friendly, professional, polished demeanor for client interacions
Strong attention to detail, especially with documents and scheduling
Valid driver's license (occasional local errands)

Preferred (Not Required)

Interest in home design, construction, or architecture
Basic photo editing or social media content experience
