Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented full-time Accounting Clerk to join our accounting team at a West Houston Infiniti. We are a family-owned and operated luxury automotive dealership. We offer competitive compensation and a professional, team-oriented work environment for the right candidate.

Position Summary

The Accounting Clerk supports the dealership’s accounting department with daily financial transactions, recordkeeping, reconciliations, and administrative responsibilities. This position plays an important role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with dealership policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

Process and post daily cash receipts, customer payments, and credit card transactions
Prepare and reconcile daily bank deposits
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Post vehicle sales, service repair orders, and parts invoices into the accounting system
Review deal paperwork for completeness and accuracy prior to submission for funding
Reconcile accounting schedules, including vehicle inventory, floorplan, warranty receivables, and customer accounts
Maintain accurate and organized accounting files and documentation
Assist with month-end closing procedures and financial reporting
Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits
Communicate with sales, service, parts, and management teams to resolve accounting discrepancies
Ensure compliance with dealership policies, manufacturer requirements, and applicable accounting procedures
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as needed

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred
1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; automotive dealership experience preferred
Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures
Familiarity with CDK Drive preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team

This position is based in an office environment within a luxury automotive dealership. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting and maintaining accuracy while managing multiple priorities.
