Assistant Project Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager who will assist the Project Manager in all aspects of the building process for renovation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Review project documents, plans, and drawings to identify issues and risks.
Assist with negotiating and writing subcontracts, change orders, and purchase orders.
Conduct onsite subcontractor walk throughs and prepare takeoffs and estimates.
Assist in the development of budgets and project costs.
Monitor and maintain shop drawing and submittal process.
Assist Project Manager and field staff in managing long lead items and projected schedules.
Complete, review, and track Requests for Information (RFI’s).
Attend project meetings to review coordination, scopes, and production.
Assist with developing monthly progress reports.
Monitor closeout and project turnover process.
Assist in maintaining the ITR (Items to Resolve) updates.
Perform additional duties as requested.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
Strong problem-solving skills; ability to identify and resolve issues.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment while maintaining the above responsibilities.
Strong ability to read construction plans and shop drawings.
Proficient with Bluebeam, Procore, and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience working as an Assistant Project Manager or Estimator on residential projects: 2 Years (Preferred)
