Full Job Description

The Sam Tell Companies has an open position, currently seeking a Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant to join our growing Accounting Department. The ideal candidate will be versed in all basic aspects of Accounting, be detail focused/numbers oriented and, have the ability to prioritize and multitask,. The position reports directly to the Controller and Credit Manager.

This is a great opportunity for a self-starter with the desire to impact a company and deliver results.

Essential Functions:

Basic General Ledger reconciliations.
Certified Payroll Reporting.
Accounts Receivable related work, inclusive of AIA requisitions.
Prequalifications for contractor, subcontractor work.
Customer account reconciliations.
Sales taxes, licensing, and returns.
Daily analysis of cash activity and bank reconciliations.
Assist with audits and collateral exams.

Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum of three-plus years of related accounting experience
Prior experience with System 2000 (VAI) ERP system is a huge plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel and Word
Strong computer skills and attention to detail
Solid understanding of business terms and how mid-market business transact (debits/credits, journal entries, batches, vendor and customer statements, etc.)
High integrity and ability to work well with all levels of our organization
Excellent ability to communicate both written and verbal
Strong work ethic, highly organized and ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy
