WAREHOUSE MANAGER

Department: Moving, Storage & Logistics Operations

Reports to: PRESIDENT

Job Summary

The Warehouse Manager is a senior operational leader responsible for the independent management of OneRelo’s warehouse, dock, yard, storage, inventory, equipment, and assigned personnel. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position works collaboratively with the Operations Manager / Dispatch as a peer department leader. The Warehouse Manager maintains authority over warehouse priorities, safety, organization, staffing assignments, and quality standards while coordinating labor, equipment, and service needs across the operation.

Essential Job Functions

Direct daily warehouse operations, including receiving, staging, loading, unloading, vault storage, rack storage, shipping, inventory movement, and release of goods.
Establish daily warehouse priorities and plan warehouse labor and assignments based on scheduled work, inbound and outbound shipments, storage activity, available capacity, employee skills, and seasonal demand.
Work collaboratively with the Operations Manager / Dispatch on shared labor, vehicles, equipment, job schedules, warehouse capacity, and service priorities; elevate unresolved conflicts or competing priorities to the General Manager.
Coordinate directly with Sales, Customer Service, and project teams regarding warehouse capacity, special handling requirements, storage activity, and service commitments.
Open and close the facility as assigned; maintain warehouse, yard, dock, and storage security and promptly address loss-prevention or access-control concerns.
Maintain an orderly warehouse layout and accurate location controls; ensure furniture and customer goods are properly wrapped, labeled, inventoried, stored, and protected in fixed shelving, vaults, and flexible storage areas.
Supervise, coach, train, and evaluate warehouse employees, leads, and temporary labor, as well as drivers and movers/packers while assigned to warehouse work; reinforce productivity, attendance, conduct, and quality expectations.
Conduct regular dock/warehouse meetings and safety talks using company and UniGroup training resources; verify required training, practical evaluations, and documentation are completed.
Enforce company policies and safe-work practices, including PPE, forklift and material-handling rules, dock safety, housekeeping, uniforms, incident reporting, and proper lifting techniques.
Inspect the warehouse, docks, yard, equipment, and storage areas routinely; correct hazards, coordinate repairs, and escalate unresolved safety or facility issues promptly.
Oversee warehouse equipment readiness, including forklifts, pallet jacks, ramps, ladders, vaults, straps, pads, dollies, and related tools; restrict use to trained and authorized employees.
Maintain appropriate inventory levels of packing materials and warehouse supplies; monitor purchasing, issuance, use, return, and condition of reusable equipment to reduce waste and loss.
Ensure local vehicles and crews are adequately equipped for assigned work and coordinate equipment or space needs with Operations and special-project teams.
Monitor daily productivity, labor utilization, damage prevention, and inventory accuracy; recommend practical improvements to warehouse workflow.
Manage warehouse recruiting needs, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, and corrective action in partnership with the General Manager and Human Resources.
Maintain accurate operational records, inspection logs, training documentation, inventory records, and other reports required by company policy or applicable regulations.
Promote professional, responsive service and assist with resolving operational or customer issues involving storage, handling, delivery, or warehouse activity.
Perform other related warehouse and operations duties as business needs require.

Qualifications

Three or more years of warehouse, moving and storage, logistics, distribution, or related operations experience, including at least one year in a management role; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Working knowledge of warehouse flow, loading and unloading, storage methods, inventory controls, material-handling equipment, and crew coordination.
Demonstrated ability to schedule and direct employees, prioritize changing workloads, and use labor and equipment efficiently.
Strong safety orientation and ability to consistently enforce policies and operating procedures.
Clear verbal and written communication, sound judgment, attention to detail, and a strong customer-service focus.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn moving/storage, inventory, timekeeping, and operational software.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record if driving is required for assigned duties.
Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to satisfy applicable pre-employment requirements.

The employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull, handle equipment and materials; work around moving equipment, varying temperatures, dust, and noise; lift and carry up to 60 pounds independently; and participate in team lifts of heavier or bulky items, with or without reasonable accommodation.
