Full Job Description

SUMMARY:

Bridge to Home operates a shelter program which provides temporary nightly shelter, meals, and shower facilities to homeless clients. The shelter also operates an evening meal program, Feeding it Forward seven days a week and additional supportive and activity programs throughout the day. The Interim Housing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing these programs, its day-to-day operations, and its staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Engage and work in collaboration with Director of Interim Housing on matters of operations, strategy, and site and staff supervision.
Supervises, trains, manages, and schedules Residential Counselors, volunteers, and shelter security guards with a trauma informed lens and de-escalation techniques.
Along with shelter team, oversees the shelter and its operations on an ongoing basis to ensure safety and security of all employees, volunteers, residents, and guests as a top priority.
Develop and manage infrastructure required to successfully deliver and expand program operations, ensuring that best practices are executed in homeless services.
Create and manage processes to ensure ongoing regulatory legal compliance regarding contracts and risk factors.
Designated ADA Compliance Officer and Safety Manager for site and programs; ensure compliance and safety for site and programs are followed.
Designated Grievance Coordinator overseeing all residential complaints while ensuring all designated parties informed until resolution is reached
Support Human Resource policies and activities while overseeing program staff
Monitor flow of supplies and donation and maintains a current inventory for the shelter
Oversee the day-to-day functions and operations of the shelter and its programs
Assures that shelter rules, policies, and procedures are followed
Works with Activities and Volunteer Coordinator to schedule transportation, meals, volunteers, and donations needed for the shelter operations and that appropriate resident activities are developed and scheduled for resident and client engagement and skill building.
Works with CES Supervisor and case managers to coordinate client needs and housing services
Supports Director of Interim Housing in working with vendors and sub-contractors for delivery of services to the shelter to ensure facilities are well kept and functional for all purposes and use.
Ensures that emergency procedures are followed and that all Incident Reports are complete within agency protocol
Creates and maintains a professional, welcoming attitude with residents, clients, volunteers, and guests.
Conducts monthly meetings with the shelter and individual meetings with staff
Attend all organization’s team and leadership meetings
Works with Director of Interim Housing to create program benchmarks and with staff to report monthly, quarterly and annually progress
On call for shelter emergencies
Other duties as assigned and related to the job

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Two years of experience related, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university- Highly desired
Experience in successful ability to supervise and manage others, including staff, volunteers and clients, as well as site facilities and schedules.
Ability to work well with people of diverse backgrounds; prior experience with homeless or low-income individuals and families.
High comfort level working in a diverse environment and working with vulnerable populations including families with young children and those with severe mental health disabilities and substance use disorders.
Possess a strong commitment to the mission, philosophy, and values of BTH, as well as a passion for ending homelessness.
Computer, Outlook, Word, and Excel Proficient

Valid Driver’s License with no major infractions which will restrict driving to perform job duties and requirements- Required

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to understand written and oral instructions to make quick and reasonable decisions and conclusions. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in situations.

WEEKLY HOURS: 40+ hours per week; non-traditional schedule; requires flexibility

May be required to work weekends & holidays
